Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults
are introduced to the Roman Catholic faith. During the Period of Inquiry, people who
are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith (Inquirers) participate in
evangelization and precatechumenate sessions. At these sessions, basic information about
the Faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are discussed. The Period of Inquiry is intended
to help candidates decide whether they want to continue learning about the Faith.
